Ah, well -- your heist got heisted. It's all in the collective pool we all draw from -- literally.
Did I ever tell you about the time Rick Veitch, working 6 months AHEAD of publishing schedule, anticipated the launch of his serialized ABRAXAS AND THE EARTHMAN graphic novel (in the page of Marvel's EPIC ILLUSTRATED), using the utterly unique concept of 'sky whales' -- only to see THAT VERY MONTH's HEAVY METAL feature a sky whale story? And when a key plot twist of ABRAXAS saw print, Chris Claremont had already plundered the image for his own use (writing himself OUT of a corner in the monthly X-MEN) which saw print TWO WEEKS before Rick's ABRAXAS chapter, and everyone thereafter accused Rick of swiping from Claremont?
